cinco de mayo

yellow chargers topped with red chargers  then layered with striped plates matching towels as napkins

matching striped glasses and tablecloth.

I have never celebrated Cinco de Mayo before but one day at the local dollar store they had these colorful plates, and all matching accessories and I came up with a tablescape of bright colors but what would I use them for?

And then I found the mini cake stands and I knew it would come together for Cinco De Mayo party on the 5th of May.This is a Holiday celebrated for the Mexican revolution, kinda like our 4th of July.I couldn't resist the mini colorful cake stands(why not? I can just add them to my collections)

I had red chili peppers that hang somewhere in my kitchen placed on top a bright red square cake stand, with matching red and blue, yellow candles. Oh yea and the ever favorite colored beads.

A blue bowl added for more height to display a mini stand

I tried to get a photo of the tri colored flatware but I can see I didn't do a very good job. Oh well, claiming photography skills is not on my resume.

I used red, yellow and blue flatware it doesn't show very well in the light but this was a real cute table to do.Hope you have a great week and pour me a Margarita please it has been one heck of a week.

  3. Very festive, Susie! I bought those plates a few years ago, and we don't celebrate Cinco either! I don't drink, so make mine w/o the liquor please! I don't know that I will get to a Cinco table this year, busy week ahead!

  4. What a perfect setting for celebrating today! Love all the bright pretty colors...I love bright & cheerful things. You'll never find me making a Civil War quilt or working with "ThimbleBerries" fabrics. LOL

We never celebrated Cinco either & won't this year...too much going on but your table sure looks enticing...I'll join you in that Margarita...Ole'

  5. Susie, this table is so much fun. I love all of the bright colors and the stripes. Did you find all of this at the $ Store? Those little cake stands are so cute. I can never find chargers big enough to use under another charger. That really makes the place setting look great. Wish I had a Margarita right now. It's toast your table. laurie
