making lil bird nests

I know lots of you are still buried under snow in so many parts of the country but with January almost coming to a close I thought maybe some of you might be looking forward to spring or at least spring projects .I made these little bird nests this week mostly because I was so bored and tried to organize my craft bags. I made several flowers from burlap and saved the pulled threads. I didn't  want to throw them out (I figured I could use them for something) Taa-Daa put them all together with lace scraps, ribbon scraps and anything in little bits and pieces and just

put it on something the glue won't stick to like foil and just pour glue over all .I used Aileen's tacky glue. when they were partially dry and set just scrunch up and shape into a little nest. add more or make them as big as possible. add eggs and some birds and Spring is coming! hope this works .susie

Island Tea

Hi everyone .I hope you are all well. I wanted to do a Tea scape but I don't have a lot of beautiful tea cups like every one has. So I wanted to put together something with what I did have. there are so many Feminine tea settings that you come up with that they make me want to cry over their beauty  or run out and buy tons of tea cups  that I will never use.I hope you like what I have put together here .wishing you all a wonderful day. Susie

Cranberry Tablescape

Hi everybody I wanted to do a nice quiet tablescape after the busyness of Christmas and the flooding of color that my house was filled with I felt we needed something more quiet and serene. Where I live at we don't have means to alot of pine cones but we do have lots of Magnolia trees. I gathered a bunch of these pod things and let them air dry for a few days( wanted to kill any  crawly things that might have been in them).

I put them in a cranberry cake plate with several sets of Temp-tations I received for Christmas and wanted to use together. I had picked these pods and spray painted them silver and used them in several places around my house for Christmas. I think they were much prettier than painted pinecones. I want to thank Karen Valentine from White Lace Cottage for helping me with my new blog. She is Wonderful and did an awesome job and I would highly recommend her to everyone. Hope you have a great day.

Island scape

I don't have a mantel in my house but what I do have are UGLY blue counter tops in my kitchen. Hi everybody hope everyone is well today. I wanted to get into  blogging after I read all the beautiful blogs about decorating your tables and mantels. I wanted to join in the fun and share also, but being there is only my husband and I, redecorating our table gets kind of awkward redoing the dining room table every other day. So I came up with an idea that would work and now I can redecorate my Kitchen Island on a whim. today's scape are a collection of my chocolate and pink cake plates(I am  an avid collector with over 100 plates) and a beautiful pink and brown quilt I received while undergoing chemo treatments several years ago. The quilt is covered in 12 angels to wrap around me and give comfort. thanks for sharing

Tidepools

Hi everybody. Hope everyone is having a good start to the New Year. I am in recovery mode after having major surgery in December. When you live in San Diego  you get to go to places like the tide pools  at Point Loma and spend a wonderful healing day. I feel so bad for those of you who are having such cold temperatures through out our country. Please stay safe out there and be careful especially with black ice. I made a very calming  tablescape after I put away all the Christmas décor. The house always looks so drab after we do this. My Husband and I are not of the less is better attitude. At Christmas  more is better is the norm but I will share that another day. Today I wanted to share a beautiful day in January. Thanks for sharing Susie
