solo vacation

Recently I treated myself to my very first solo vacation. Between all the events  of divorce, moving twice two deaths and three different job changes I needed to do something for me something that involved the  FUN word. It seems I don't have that f word in my life and knew I had to make a change. So I packed a back pack and flew to Seattle Washington.

I have never been there and this was definitely a city worth seeing. Hi everbody in blogland. I hope this past week has been good for all of you. I hope Spring has hit you all and you are all enjoying the beautiful weather and all the beauty spring brings. While in Seattle I went to Pikes Market, Chulery gardens the Space Needle, I took a ferry boat out to Bremerton Island where I watched my cell phone fall out of my pocket and wash away in the Puget sound.

Here I am on the waterfront on just a glorious day

Cherry blossoms abound every where you look just magnificent

The flowers at the market were such an eyeful and so beautiful they looked almost fake I have never seen such tulips before

I went up to the top of the space needle and not only is the view breath taking when you look down but when you look up and 360 degrees all around

One building had these 80 feet three dimensional spiders painted on the roof  AMAZING

Just a fabulous view.

These are pictures of the glass sculptures in the garden. words cannot describe these stunning beautiful works they were magical, enormous, fabulous, and truly the most colorful works I have ever seen. If you live there in Seattle you are blessed if you want to visit it is a wonderful city with so much to see and do.I gave my self the gift of adventure and the experience to explore. I hope to be able to call Seattle my home in the near future. Have a great week  and take the time to give your self something maybe not trip but do something special for yourself. it really helps. I'm joining Susan with Between Naps on the Porch ,Funky JUnk Interiors, Lets join the Scoop. hope to see you all there.Susie

  1. What a fun trip, except losing the cell. My daughter went out there in October to visit her cousin and fell in love with the area.
    Have a great week, Susie.

  2. The glass sculptures are fabulous and the cherry blossoms and the tulips - so many beautiful things there, and so much to do, I want to get to Seattle sometime in the future too. I am so sorry to hear you lost your cell phone though. We have not seen much spring weather yet in Northern Ohio. It was mild for a week or so but now we are back in a cold weather pattern again with high temps in the forties today. There is some frost and a possibility of a bit of snow forecast for tomorrow morning. Brrrr

    1. Watching my cell phone first fall on to a pileing 30 feet below and still grabbable was the worst thing until a wave came and just flushed it in to the water. So Candy if you travel anywhere don't put your phone in your coat pocket. we are so dependant on these dam things now it's scary I was literally lost for two days. hope it starts warming up for you soon. we are in the eighties here in N CA. I have missed you dear friend and hope you are well.Susie

  3. Oh, your pictures of the Chihuly glass pieces are stunning! We had an exhibit of his pieces at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens a few years back, and I fell in love with them. If I ever get to Seattle this will be #1 on my list of places to visit! So glad you enjoyed the trip, except the phone loss part.

  5. Your pictures are so lovely. I have been to Seattle 3 times. Twice in February to see their Garden show, which is the best I have ever seen and once in April to take some floral arranging classes. It is lovely, so very lovely. I love the rain it makes me relaxed so that kind of weather is fine by me. You will have to let me know if you do move there. Have fun. Sorry about the phone. Valerie R.
