Island scape

I don't have a mantel in my house but what I do have are UGLY blue counter tops in my kitchen. Hi everybody hope everyone is well today. I wanted to get into  blogging after I read all the beautiful blogs about decorating your tables and mantels. I wanted to join in the fun and share also, but being there is only my husband and I, redecorating our table gets kind of awkward redoing the dining room table every other day. So I came up with an idea that would work and now I can redecorate my Kitchen Island on a whim. today's scape are a collection of my chocolate and pink cake plates(I am  an avid collector with over 100 plates) and a beautiful pink and brown quilt I received while undergoing chemo treatments several years ago. The quilt is covered in 12 angels to wrap around me and give comfort. thanks for sharing

  2. Hi, Susie! So glad you left a comment on my pansy table so I could find your blog! I am in awe of your cake plate collection! I love them, too, but I only have about ten. Guess I need to get busy, huh? I also love your angel quilt. What a marvelous idea for someone who needs extra comfort!

  3. Susie, this collection is just darling! I have never seen any of it other than my teapot. I too love and collect cake plates. Your quilt is beautiful. We have a lot in common. I hold a stitching group at my home. About 5 years ago my dear friend, Joyce was diagnosed with breast cancer. The gals in the group each made a pink and white quilt block and I put it together in a quilt for her. Happy to say that she is a survivor like you!
    hugs,
