Today I wanted to do a cheery table using bright happy sunflowers but not in the usual blues and yellows. |
I have these beautiful bright green and yellow dishes that were my inspiration with a tiny red lady bug in the center of the sunflowers |
they have so many colors to use I picked out the black check and mimicked that with black checked piece of material over yellow checked with bright lime green placemats and napkins |
there are tiny ladybugs throughout and at an antique store a woman was passing these little gems out she said they were good luck pieces I knew they would match these dishes |
I wish she had given me a handful instead of just one |
some sunflowers, sorry didn't get a chance to get to Trader Joes for some real ones. |
I added my trademark beads in multi colors to match, yellows, lime green and black. |
Here is a book I have all about sunflowers and the magic of these beauties how they turn their faces to the sun. |
I love the black green and yellows together |
long view of the table |
Yes I ironed the black fabric but my over head fan was blowing. |
I found sunflower cupcake liners I thought were so cute and fit right in .I didn't use a cake stand this time but raised up the candles instead on pedestals. |
glasses ready for umm maybe some ice cold Lime-ade?? |
Here are both books on display one in the traditional blue and yellow |
great contrast of colors don't you think? |

Sorry, not typing too much...rotator surgery. Just wanted you to know that this table is great.
ReplyDeleteGreat table, I love all the colors! Wow, congrats to your son on his graduation and being published! That's really neat!!
ReplyDeleteSusie, This is a lovely tribute to Shayne and his accomplishments. The inspiration dish is cute as the dickens with the sunflower and the ladybug in the center. You are right about the black checks and the bright green, they do look wonderful together. I love the way the black and white floral and the yellow and white floral are framed by the black dinner plate. Great job! And congratulations to your son.
ReplyDeleteCandy thanks for sharing with me I truly miss him so much and being able to do this in his honor is my own way of trying to deal with him being gone. I love when you stop by you always leave the greatest comments . Hae a great week.Susie
DeleteI love the black, white, greens and yellows together. Sunflowers are a fave of mine too, and how great that your son published a book. Congratulations. He obviously has many interesting pursuits ahead. laurie
ReplyDeleteI forgot to answer a couple of questions from a comment on my blog. One was about red melamine plates. I got them at Tuesday Morning some years ago. The other was about a table covering I used. I bought it at an estate sale. Thank you for your comment and your interest. laurie
