my other favorite holiday 4th of July

I'm so glad the 4th of July is coming

I love Red white and blue together not azure blue, not sky blue not pastel blue but BOLD dark blue.

They are striking colors  but together they just fit so right. Sometimes we need to thank our founding Fathers for coming up with these

bold bright colors.no other blue would do

Deep reds deep blues and the crispness of the white to offset  the others

can you imagine what it would be like if they had come up with colors like orange and gray? YUK

I love the 4th of July not because it's summer, in fact I hate summer but it is a great Holiday to celebrate for anyone who is walking on American soil. We are the mightiest nation in the world.

The dollar store has great 4th of July decor .They even had little sparkle lights in red,white and blue , I should have grabbed more

My hutch is all decked out too.

I love the little star accessories that I found at Pier one on sale

Everybody gets their own cupcake on their own mini stands how cute is that?

All lit up like sparklers aglow

Even the cloche got in on the decorating

I used extra red and blue lights to adorn with only you can't see them.

I used three cake plates here one in red  one in white and of course blue

The flag plates I grabbed at GW for only $2.00 for all 4 of them

Add some beads in a glass cloche and call it a day

Even this cake plate got a new look with some new ribbon

some mini lites to sparkle all around and blue and white pearl strands

And a wreath for the wall to complete it all. I hope you enjoy my whimsy of the 4th of July or Memorial Day Or Labor Day Or Flag day or what ever day you want to decorate  with RED, WHITE, AN BLUE.I'm so glad they picked the right colors. I know I couldn't get this excited about doing multiple holidays in Orange and Gray.

annivarsary table

 Although I just moved in to my first apartment I had this table idea running thru my head since Christmas and had to put it together because I was obsessing about it

I wanted to create an elegant Anniversary table I haven't planned the menu only the  setting but come on when you have been married for 40 years  you should be dining out

 not eating in so the menu really doesn't matter does it?

Add a little candle lite for romance that is why we celebrate isn't it? 

I picked up this wonderful cake plate at an antique store I love the detailing in this work

I layered silver plates and white together for the elegant look I was seeking and the tiny circles on the plates remind me of bubbles like from champagne

one pink flower just for a tiny pop of color

always pull out the finer crystal for a special event

and serve a special dessert to the loved one you are celebrating

well I m ready to celebrate for this anniversary party hope you like it and enjoy your weekend.

Busy in May

Well I have to say I have a had one of the busiest months of my life. this included moving to my first apartment by myself, my son graduating from College, my oldest son getting engaged, filing for divorce( yea it has taken me ten years but finally getting it done) packing, unpacking and hosting a huge Hospital Bunco Auxiliary event for three hundred women.So some things had to be eliminated and sorry to say that was blog time. I didn't have a computer for three weeks and didn't have time to work on it anyways, 

So I haven't been able to  create any tablescapes and just pulled one from old files but it's bright and hopefully liked. I am obsessed with cake plates and anything with cupcakes and did this in honor of Birthdays. hey we all get them and celebrate them so lets have fun!

I love cupcakes and how they always make someone smile. Not only are they the perfect food to hold in your hand but decorating with them brings out the kid in all of  us.

And I got to bring out  my special Depression glasses that usually just get to collect dust on them in the cub-bards.

This is one of my absolute  unique cake plates and is in the shape of a Ferris Wheel how fun is that?

wow don't they look good enough to eat I think I will go have a cup of milk and a cupcake one for each hand and enjoy myself. I 've deserved  them it's been a busy month.Hope you all have a great June
