pretty in pink mood

sometimes life keeps throwing the wrong curve balls. I found myself getting more and more down and I knew I had to get my post out but just wasn't in the orange or reds of Fall just yet so I decided on a pink.How can you be down when staring at this happy color?

this sweet delicate fabric of tiny pink rosebuds was my inspiration for this table. The napkin rings were a steal at GW for only 1.99 for six of them I don't need 6 but couldn't pass them up.

Anytime I get to pull out my pink depression glass makes me happy

I found this chippy cake plate at a craft show it even had the little pink gems on it and the rust was free!

 I pulled out my old faithful teapot and sugar bowl and creamer. My mother gifted me this entire china set for my fortieth birthday many eons ago. I love the softness to it. 

Don't know where this little set came from but I love the delicacy to it and the pink rose fabric helped bring out the roses in all the china pieces 

Sometimes I amaze myself when I buy little feminine pieces like this antique napkin set if anyone knows me  I am much more the tomboy than a girlie girl and this is maxed out in the bling department for me.

I went to several stores this week trying to find real pink roses to use for this table and there was not a pink rose to be found not even at Michaels or Trader Joes or the dollar stores  and that depressed me even more.

But it did make me happy with a pink hutch doesn't this make all of you Happy too?

I have the whole set of this bakeware except for a teapot that  a fellow blogger had I can't remember who but I love this with all the dark pinks and chocolate browns.

green with envy

I couldn't decide what kind of table I wanted to do this week when I join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. I recently found these napkins on sale but had nothing to go with them. I am so in envy of all of you  in blogland. It's like once you come up with an idea you have everything you need to make it all come together. I had new napkins and no ideas at all

I found these blue plates  on my clearance search at Burlington Coat Factory. these were some of the stash I grabbed up for 49 cents each but had no clue if the blue would match in my new napkins. I buy material when I see it never knowing what I am going to do with it but I tried it  and like it. Is it to busy? to many patterns? I thought they looked ok with each other that is another reason why I envy all of you. It's like you all pull everything off so well

This is probably one of the minimalist of tables I have ever done. I tend to overdo than be minimal. I am a great believer in more is better. I didn't even use a cake plate for this one  ok the two mini's for the candles. I had a dark blue cake stand I  wanted to use but the wrong color blue and it threw everything off.My goal in life (HA_HA) is to have a cake plate in almost every color. although my collection is large I am long way to achieving that.

Scrounged thru cupboards and found these glasses close enough blue to match wasn't worried about the green tone

Didn't even see the shadows until  I put them on the computer guess I should clean my eye glasses better.

Only a few beads this time just enough for a little bit of pop

Picked up the bottle at Marshalls on clearance don't know what I was going to do with it either.

Looking at it  the colors look ok together and the blue matched the plates perfectly.

I'm glad I was able to pick up two of these plates I also got them in green and brown (later posts) come on  they were only 49 cents who wouldn't snatch them all up?

Well I hope everyone likes the color choice they didn't turn out so bad but I still am envious of most of you but learning that there are no rules and I could do whatever I want. Have a great week. Now that Labor day is past we can start with all the beauty of the Fall scapes that we are anxious to get to. Color ON.Susie 

Paw-fect day

This week's tablescape is a challenge that Kathleen from Cuisine Kathleen put out there for the end  of the summer.I had this in my mind for a while and to tell you the truth I was kinda of colored out.So I thought what is still colorful with a little bit of whimsy thrown in ?  

I found these adorable spreaders at my favorite  thrift store and decided to make a tablescape around them. OOH cat theme? why not ? how about a tribute to my room-mates. Being an avid cat lover I had plenty around the house that I could use in their honor. Although they are both Siamese I still adore anything with cats on them. 

I thought mixing the patterns of black and white would work together. I found paw print material and made the napkins and table runner and the checkered placemats were a steal at Burlington Coat Factory they only had two but were marked down for 50 cents each and they are reversible.

I also scored on these black plates and these beautiful white floral plates there at BCF clearance for 49 cents each. I tell you if you go look at their clearance section you will be amazed at the bargains they have. I used mini white cake plates for the candles and elevated the cat statue on  a white milk glass bowl. I was going to put the cat on a black cake plate but it didn't look right .It's still summer and I wanted a clean crisp look not Halloweenish in August.

I used my white chargers to add that whimsy touch, when I was taking pictures of these items it's funny what the camera picks up that we don't see like my chargers were covered in cat hair. HMMM does that mean someone has been on the table when they shouldn't be?  

 

I switched out my hutch from the beach scene to coincide with my black and white theme .And yes I have a black and white cake plate on the hutch don't I have to?

I pulled everything I own  in black and white and was shocked that I had enough to fill a whole hutch

 I 'd like to introduce my babies aka roommies this is Cuddle Bug he finds laying upside down is much cooler in the heat

 And this is Cassie Bu she doesn't like to have her picture taken and usually avoids it all together ( She has attitude) she's so cute with her little black nose she is a siamese ragdoll variety.
