The Luck Of The Irish

That time of the year will be comin around where we all be wearing o the green and pinch me and luck of the Irish is everywhere. Where Lassies and Laddies will be pretending they of Irish decent so they can share on this day. 

Aye but in my house I am great descendant of Irish folk.So there won't be any pretense around here. And we'll be serving a good Irish stew with Soda bread to sop up the gravy.

Even the salt n pepper got in on the wearing o the green

This little lass came home all the way with  from Dublin with me.She was wearing the green of Ireland with a contented face like she had lapped up all the cream

For dessert I made shamrock cupcakes with green velvet cake.(You want to keep the leprechauns Happy now don't cha?)

Personally I don't like to be wearing shoes on me feet I like the feel of the good Earth beneath but being a sucker for cute plates I had to get these Luck of The Irish shoes plates each one has a cute saying. 

Now if I were to wear these You can betcha I'd be doing a fine Irish Jig in them for sure.

I'm sure once I learned the steps that is, as I am a green eyed Lassie.

There are shamrocks everywhere because we are a Lucky bunch we are

Ahh the table be set for Our fine day of sharing the Day of the Irish with our friends and families even the smallies are welcome and we won't be a pinching them neither.

So go on with ya all grab some green to wear pinch the one next to ya (they might like it) and pretend your part Irish

We don't really mind we like all the attention we even dye rivers Green for the day  and serve Green milkshakes to everyone.

So grab your Lassie or Laddie for that an do a little Irish jig with someone ya love

It'll put a little color to your cheeks and a smile on your face.May the Sun shine upon your face and all your days be Green. Friends of the Earth

Hello Everybody I have great news the SUN came out for the entire day in Seattle. It has been a very rare site in these parts for a long time. With so much rain bushes are starting to sprout beautiful pinks fragrant blossoms.I hope Spring comes in real quick.

I made this little display on my coffee table in anticipation of spring and all the animals coming out to play.

The whole thing came about when a dear friend was moving and asked if I wanted this scrap of fabric.I Loved it instantly but didn't know how to use it.It's only a scrap not enough to even make napkins out of.

I think these bunnies hanging off a carrot tree is too cute and whimsical.

They are all in playful modes from pulling a wagon full of tulips to letting a chick perch on its head

How adorable is this pattern? dragonflies and happy worms and caterpillars and smiley snails is this cute or what?

The Birds are nesting watching all the antics of the critters playing

I found what I thought to be a tea pot at a thrift store with little critters all over it peeking out and smiling.But didn't know till I got it home it is not a teapot but a music box

The dragonflies and butterflies are eagerly waiting for the SUN of spring to warm us up.

Even the critters on this tiny tea set want to join in all the fun and Play along

So here they are awaiting the arrival of spring

I think I will let them enjoy their fun for a little while besides aren't we all ready for spring and flowers and Sunshine and planting and the joys of scents soon to be coming our way? I know I am

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is coming and that means Ash Wednesday and Lent are not to far behind.

I set an intimate table for two with masks and beads and coins. How are you All ? I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and were filled with Lots of Love.

My cake stands consist of a green cake plate with a purple smaller cake plate topped with a beautiful silver mask and jewels and cascading beads.

I've never been to a Mardis Gras celebration nor to New Orleans but its on  to do my list.I would love to tour the old streets and just admire all the wonderful architecture

The smell of all the different foods I bet would be amazing oh and the music would be spectacular.

So I will just envision I am traveling thru there on a leisure Holiday.

In honor of a loved one

This is a short post this this week. I've been down with the flu and just can't get my energy back. I hope you are all well and not fighting colds or flus.

My mantel was done in soft feminine  pinks and teacups and just some pieces I thought would look good together. But today I found out my friend who has battled Breast cancer for 8 years lost her fight and went home to the Lord. So this post is in her honor.

To the left of the clock is a sign that reads HOPE and one on the right that says JOY.When you are a cancer survivor as I am for 8 years you live on HOPE and try to find JOYS where ever and when ever you can.My friend Carolyn went thru treatment with me.I was lucky and have have been in full remission for these past 8 years.She wasn't so lucky.But this woman had the strongest spirit I have ever seen she truly was a warrior.

In this little jar is a tag that says LOVE on it.sorry I didn't do so well with the pics.

So tonight I offer my prayers for her family and share in her JOY of going to heaven.Her life now is truly Blessed.

So if you know of someone who is battling a horrible disease lift them up in HOPE that they too can still find JOYs  in life.

Journey well my friend you will be greatly missed and LOVED.Susie
